Interview with author Janice Ross

Tell us a little bit about your book.

Taunted Souls is about is a story about sacrificing love for the sake of doing the right thing. Lucas and Shayna are perfect for each other, but Shayna has hidden her feelings all along because she’s never believed she was deserving off happiness. Lucas, on the other hand, has wore his heart on his sleeves only to be rejected by Shayna. He eventually let go and move on.

And then one day, everything changes.

This is their story of diving into love when nothing else seems to go in your favor.

Have you published before?

Yes, I first published in 2013.

Are you currently working on anything else?

I am currently working on several stories, but my most exciting one is an assassin romance. It is extremely intense, in many ways. As much as the characters are stubborn, their passion oozes for each other.

What is your favorite writing snack?

My favorite writing snack is Cheetos Jumbo Puffs, though sometimes I indulge in sweet & spicy plantain chips.

What gets you in the mood to write?

Music gets me in the mood to write. Just the other day, I got swept away for hours. I was listening to Journey To Atlantis. The lyrics are so beautiful, but might also be perceived as heartbreaking. This put me in a zone to examine relationships and the depths of being in love.

Who is your favorite character and why?

I have too many favorite characters, but I’m selecting one of my old favorites. I love Richelle Mead’s Eugenie Markham from the Dark Swan Series. The character is an unlikely heroine.she flawed, yet completely relatable. Makes tough choices and bad decisions, but you’re completely vested in her life.

Favorite book of all time?

I’m a BIG Paulo Coelho fan. I’ve read most of his work, but my favorite is a deep love story called By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept: A Novel of Forgiveness.

I think breakfast says a lot about a person, what is your perfect breakfast?

My favorite breakfast is Chicken & Waffles (from Metro Diner).

Do you have a favorite period of time that you like to write about or would like to live?

Although I love historical fiction, my stories mainly take place during the present day.

Please tell us in one sentence why we should read your book!

Lucas and Shayna’s story is an emotional ride with twists and turns that will pull you in.
